Silver cartridge pouch of King George I
George I, King of the Hellenes.
A silver cartridge pouch, on which in niello technique, is depicted the crowning of the king by the goddess Athena, representing justice. Two winged victories appear at the top of the composition, reminiscent of similar Roman depictions of the crowning of emperors.
